  • How does your designated driver service work?

    You chose a start time and one of our friendly drivers will meet you at your designated location. We bring along water bottles and assist you with lunch – hydration and nosh. We will also become your personal paparazzi for a day. We are licensed (TCP #35816) and insured to drive your rented or personal vehicle.   • Will you meet in San Francisco to take guests on a wine tour?

    Yes, we have driven guests from and back to San Francisco. There is an additional flat fee of $50 on top of the hourly rate. Also traveling from/to San Francisco one way is between 1.5 to 2 hours.

  • Why hire Wine Tour Drivers as our designated driver?

    We are relaxed, friendly, and experienced in Sonoma,  Napa Valley, Greater Sacramento area, Lodi, Amador, Gold Country to provide you a memorable wine tour. Check our our TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews.

  • What credit cards do you accept?

    All major credit cards are accepted.

  • How will we know who are driver is?

    Every driver will either call or text you the day before the tour to introduce themselves, confirm start time and location, as well as answer any questions you may have.

  • Where do we meet the driver?

    The designated driver will meet you at your lodging or your designated spot, so that when done for the day the driver is back at their vehicle.

    Side note, we have dropped guests at a dinner reservation and taken the vehicle back to your hotel dropping the keys with the front desk.

  • Is there a cancellation policy?

    Because we are a small family/friend business, cancellations have an impact on us. There is a $50 cancellation fee for all bookings that have had route planning services. If there have been no route planning services full refund issued with a 72 hour notice. However cancellations within 72 hours of the tour’s start time is subject to the deposit of $100. Same day cancellations there is no refund.

    All fees held can be used at a later date subject to availability.

    If unforeseen circumstances (sickness, family emergency, etc) require Wine Tour Drivers, LLC, to cancel your reservation, we will refund your fee and do everything we can to find you another reputable driver / wine tour guide at the same price.

  • How much is your service?

    For a group size of 1 to 5 the fee is $45/hour. Then for groups of 6 or more are $50/hour. Both with a 6 hour minimum.

  • How many wineries can we visit in a day?

    Typically groups  can get to four or five wineries in a six hour period. This would be spending a little over an hour at each location.

    But if you want a relaxed carefree wine adventure, typically ends up being three wineries.

    Either way we will make it a memorable experience.

  • Is gratuity included in the hourly rate?

    No, it is your discretion, and it is prefer in cash directly to the driver.

  • How much is a typical tip?

    Our average tip received is 25%, but we have been given generously up to 40%.

    We strive to make your day carefree and memorable by providing excellent customer service.

  • Are there any additional fees?

    No hidden fees or additional fees besides the small $6.00 booking fee when you book with your $100 deposit.

    However, if the driver meets you in San Francisco there is an additional flat fee of $50 added on top of the hourly rate.

    Also if you have different meet and drop locations, there is an additional fee based on the distance between the two locations which varies.

    Aside from those two instances there are no hidden fees.

  • Do you make reservations for us?

    Yes, upon request we will make your winery reservations for you. We know the areas and distance between stops. Relieving you of this stress – it can get overwhelming with all the wineries to choose from.

  • Do you take us to where we want to go?

    Yes, if you have a route in mind pass it along. But if you do not, then together we can plan a personalized route for your day. We will send you a list of suggested stops based on your responses to a few questions. No additional fee for this service.

  • Do you have vehicles?

    We do have vehicles. We have on occasion secured a rental vehicle for guests at an additional cost.

  • What other types of services have you done?
