Wine, Hospitality and Heart
If you’ve ever been to Lodi, you know there’s plenty to love. While it’s best known for its world-class old-vine Zinfandel, this wine region offers far more than just one standout varietal. With seven distinct growing areas cultivating over 100 different grape varieties, Lodi has something to satisfy every palate.
What truly sets Lodi apart is its down-to-earth charm—here, winemaking is rooted in farming. The people behind these incredible wines are growers first, dedicated to their craft and producing some of the most sought-after grapes in the industry. No pretense, just authentic passion and exceptional wines.

Lodi is one of California’s largest and most productive AVAs (American Viticultural Areas), producing nearly 20% of the state’s winegrapes—more than Napa and Sonoma combined!
The region’s climate is similar to Paso Robles and Healdsburg, with warm summer days balanced by the cooling delta breeze. This coastal air flows through the Carquinez Strait, providing relief during the hottest part of the day and creating ideal conditions for growing high-quality winegrapes.
With over 85 wineries (63 are included on the Lodi wine trail), figuring out where to start can be daunting. If it’s your first visit to Lodi, head to the Lodi Wine Visitor Center. The staff offers guided tastings, has a large retail selection and can help you decide which local wineries best suit your palate.
Although the Lodi AVA is large, most of the wineries are clustered in and around the Molekumne AVA and no more than a half hour (at most) apart. This gives you the freedom to bounce from winery to winery without worrying too much about travel times.
