How does your designated driver service work?

You chose a start time and we will meet you at your designated location. We bring along water bottles and assist you with lunch – hydration and nosh. We will also become your personal paparazzi for a day. We are liscensed (TCP #35816) and insured to drive your rented or personal vehicle.

Do you have vehicles?

We are not licensed to have vehicles at this time. We have on occasion secured a rental vehicle for guests at an additional cost.

Do you take us to where we want to go?

Yes, if you have a route in mind pass it along or together we can plan a personalized route for your day. I will make a suggested stops based on your resonses to a few questions. No additional fee for this service.

Do you make reservations for us?

Yes, upon request we will make your reservations for you. We know the areas and distance between stops. Relieving you of this stress.

Are there any additional fees?

If you have us coming to meet you in San Francisco or if you have a different meet and drop locations. Aside from those two instances there are no hidden fees if you are within Sonoma or Napa counties.

Is gratuity included in the hourly rate?

No, it is your discretion, and it is prefer in cash.

How much is a typical tip?

Our average tip received is 27%, but we have been given generously up to 40%. We strive to make your day carefree and memorable by providing excellent customer service.

How many wineries can we visit in a day?

Typically a mature palate can get to five or six wineries in a six hour period. Other groups want to just have a relaxed memorable wine adventure and stop at two or three wineries.

How much is your service?

For a group size of 1 to 5 the fee is $45/hour, groups of 6 or more are $50/hour.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Because we are a small family business, cancellations have an impact on us. There is a $50 cancellation fee for all bookings that have had route planning services. If there have been no route planning services full refund issued with a 72 hour notice. However cancellations within 72 hours of the tour’s start time is subject to the deposit of $100. Same day cancellations there is no refund. All fees held can be used at a later date subject to availability.

If unforeseen circumstances (sickness, family emergency, etc) require Wine Tour Drivers, LLC, to cancel your reservation, we will refund your fee and do everything we can to find you another reputable driver / wine tour guide at the same price.

Where do we meet the driver?

The designated driver will meet you at your lodging, so that when done for the day the driver is back at their vehicle. We have dropped guests at a dinner reservation and taken the vehicle back to your hotel dropping the keys with the front desk.

How will we know who are driver is?

You will get an email confirming your reservation and your drivers name. We call you prior to the tour to introduce ourselves, confirm start time and location, as well as answer any questions you may have.

What credit cards to you accept?

All major credit cards are accepted.

Do you service San Francisco?

Yes, we have driven guests from and back to San Francisco. There is an additional fee. Also traveling from/to San Francisco one way could take up to two hours.
